OUT!!!

“OUT!!!” explores the emergence of a counter-narrative in response to societal unrest and the call for change, originating from the Botanical Garden of Urbino. The narrative envisions a dystopian scenario where plants rebel against anthropocentric and patriarchal power structures, advocating for a new system based on horizontality. Drawing inspiration from Adriana Cavarero’s essay, “Inclinations. Criticism of Rectitude”, included in the book, the concept of inclination is extended into a vegetal and social horizontality. This perspective challenges the vertical, egocentric subject and promotes autonomy through relationality.

The book juxtaposes protests and botanical imagery, highlighting the parallels in their expression of horizontality. Protests symbolize democratic rebellion, advocating for inclusivity and justice, while plants exemplify the wisdom of interconnected roots, emphasizing shared resources and collaboration for the common good. The concept of horizontality transcends social structures, representing a profound transformation in our worldview and existence.
